I'm not sure why or how I ended up here...Becca,<br />I'm not sure why or how I ended up here. During an unfocused evening of dissertation writing, I took a break to look through my RSS reader. Scrolling through the entries, I decided to see if there was anything older that I hadn't read. I landed on this entry. It is exactly what I needed to read at this moment. As soon as I saw the words "There is pow'r in the blood," my mind brought up memories of Mom singing it in the car and Mawmaw and Pawpaw singing it at church when we'd visit. I also recall Dad tapping the back of my hand as it rested on the church pew in front of me. And just as you said, the words were never as profound as a child as they are now. Between the dissertation writing and my health concerns, I tend to feel overwhelmed and alone. The words of these two songs were just the reminder I needed of the awesome power of the Blood and God our healer. Thank you and I pray you have a blessed week.Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05759987088700359354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6017035694324382051.post-60952820439871092402012-03-19T10:03:32.505-07:002012-03-19T10:03:32.505-07:00This is awesome insight and I would that every Chr...This is awesome insight and I would that every Christian parent would view rearing of their children with the same insight! Those who do are often criticized for not upholding their children (adult or not) in their wrong doings. He reminds us that Christ said He came so that we could have life and have it abundently. That doesn't just mean in Heaven- but there is freedom and joy HERE and NOW. Satan tries to steal our joy and depress our spirits. When I find myself feeling "blah"- I call those verses to mind and hold up my sword of the spirit. I make a conscious decision NOT to let Satan win. It's amazing how Christ can turn your day around!Lauren @ Magnify the Lord with Mehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12266540380917036624noreply@blogger.com
